Home      Flavors and Pop Personalities

Certain "Otters" might wear some funny costumes on the plastic sleeves of frozen treats for mass consumption, but here

at OnoPops we know the story of Hawaii can be told with the handmade, tasty flavors we have in the food all around us.

Each of our flavors wants you to know its name and its unique character or characters,

so keep eating until you get to know everybody in the Ohana!

New!  Check out these latest characters!

Just the angriest, cutest little indigenous bird you would ever want in your fruit tree.  And he's ready to make hassles for anyone who even mentions
making a cape.

Kula Strawberries and organic Meyer lemons from Big Island make this an automatic refresher.

Lil Hayden Mui's mom and the accountant for P.A. Bean plantation, Pepper always helps her son with his homework so he can grow
up and go to college like the kids from Honapu Academy.

A half cup of backyard habanero in 5 gallons of ripe, organic Oahu mangoes gives this one a refreshing creeper burn that you
might even find addictive.
Pepper's sister Honey Girl is a little less type-A, and a little bit more of a sweet-hearted tomboy living down on the plantation.
She keeps Sonny Boy Freisas guessing on whether or not he gets another date with her.

The name of the flavor is the list of ingredients -- nothing but those three things go into this rich, pure OnoPop.  Exquisite.

Moka Annisette came to the islands from the San Francisco chocolate factory many moons ago to check out
where his cousins grew up in Wailua.  He likes to hang out with Lemonfruit Stargrass and contemplate the constellations.

Like a frozen chocolate truffle on a stick, this is an excellent expression of the outstanding quality of Wailua Estates chocolate.

Our first OnoPops villain! Desiree Lilikoi's uncle Dr.Orchid was experimenting with the essence of passion fruit,
stumbling on the secret formula that turns him into Mr.Passion!  He stalks Hotel Street at night making mayhem!

Vanilla ice cream hand-dipped into lilikoi sherbert, and that's just as mouth-wateringly ono as it sounds.

Just the sweetest little immature guy you’d ever like to meet.  Lil’ Hayden Mui gets good grades at Plantation School and

loves Math League.  Now if he could only stay out of trouble with the Melon twins, he wouldn’t be grounded so much.  His mom Pepper Pitt

doesn’t want Lil’ Hayden to turn out like his dad, her ex-husband “Paps” Mui.

If you like pickled green mango, you will LOVE this.  If you no like, you maybe should skip it.  We let the pickled O'ahu mangoes set up

and pickle nicely before we made pops out of them.

And now, your OnoPops favorites and their flavor personalities!

Water Based Flavors:

Paps is just an aging plantation rapscallion, farmer and local boy never meaning no harm, been in trouble with the law since

the day he was born.

Made by combining the ripest fresh organic white pineapples from Maui, so sweet and very low acid, with our special homemade blend of

Li Hing Mui powder to create a sweet tangy treat you can't resist.

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you -- The Poggs!!!!  Loco the Lilikoi, Oggie the Orange and Gary the Guava,

three fruits from different walks of life who got together to form a rock band and try to change the world.

A layered treat of Oahu lilikoi, Big Island guava, and organic Kona oranges that will sing in your mouth.

This retired British naval orange is old enough to remember why the Union Jack is on the Hawaii State Flag.

Admiral Raj spent several campaigns in India, developing a taste for the spicier side of life.

Good chums with Captain Hayden, naturally.

Organic Kona oranges swirled with a syrup of organic Big Island cinnamon, the naval orange and Indian spice, so nice.

● Flavor: Honeydew-Mint

● Character: Dewey Melon

Here’s a local haole rascal who goes to the Plantation School with Lil Hayden Mui -- and he is the twin brother to Kooky Melon,

the biggest troublemakin’ little wahine on the island.  He stays frosty even when he gets in trouble and might get lickin’s.

Perfectly refreshing on a hot Hawaiian day, the cool, ultra-fresh mint taste  from Mohala Farms and the sweet, fleshy honeydew's from

Aloun farms in Wahiawa -- can't beat this flavor for staying two degrees cooler than everyone around you.

This wrinkled old pickled plum is one wise, bespectacled Japanese detective, operating with his tough Thai cop sidekick, Basil,

who speaks with a Hong Kong-Brit accent.  They have arrived at the plantation to investigate the evil of Dr. Rambutan.

Made with all natural ume made in the Japanese Alps.  No msg or additives, only the purest, intense salted sour plum sweetened

with our thai basil infused local cane juice.

● Flavor: Kalamansi-Coriander

● Character:  Cory Adobo

This wise Filipina has organized the workers on the Bean Plantation into Farm Worker’s Local #808. A humble housewife before being

thrust into politics, she knows how hard the common fruit has to work to get by. Her tart wit and homespun speeches have made her a hero

to working class fruit everywhere.

● Flavor:  Papaya-Rangpur-Lime

● Character:  Miss Jamaica Bean

Spoiled heiress of the Bean Plantation, P.A. Bean’s daughter spends most of her time lounging on the veranda enjoying a cool beverage.

She secretly wishes she could run away with “Paps” Mui, but knows her daddy would never let her marry beneath her station.

Sweet, floral with a hint of sourness for balance.  The complex sour and mandarin flavors of the Kona Rangpurs give structure to the lush ripe

papaya, with Pure Hawaiian Vanilla on the finish.   You'll feel like a princess nibbling on this one.

Milk Based Flavors:

Miguel brought his coffee farming talents to the islands, along with his trusted donkey Pepe, from the South American coffee plantations

many years ago.  He tries to stay out of the trouble “Paps” Mui and Sonny Boy “Goats” Friesas are always getting him into.

Strong brewed organic Kona coffee blended with island cream and pure Hawaiian vanilla to create a rich, high-test latte on a stick.

It gives you the get up and go you need to ride your donkey up the mountain!

Auntie Abbie Pi, the Chinese-Hawaiian matriarch who raised “Paps” Mui as an orphan, lives in an old house way up on the stream

in the back of the valley.  They say when she was a young girl, she was the banana blossom blooming in the heart of almost every

young man on the island.

This is a beloved family pie recipe of our mom, Jenny, adapted here for the paleta.  Ripe apple bananas are carmelized into a

banana pudding, blended with rich, mild Naked Cow Dairy Wainae cream cheese and island milk, then swirled with an organic

coconut and graham cracker struesel.  It's the Hawaiian pie classic, frozen on a stick!  For reals!

Sonny Boy "Goats" Freisas is just an upcountry boy, a local hunk easy on the eyes for the ladies.  He and "Paps" Mui are

always up to some mischief on the Plantation.

An all Maui flavor, we've swirled ripe Kula strawberries into Island Fresh milk and cream, and spiked it with the excellent

goat cheese from the good goatherds at Surfing Goat Dairy.

Charlene used to work as a showgirl with Desiree Lilikoi, but she’s too old for all that now, and works these days with Sweety Kikkoman at the

saimin shop on the Plantation.  Her hopes and dreams for fame fall on the shoulders of her son Gary, as he plans to take the world by storm

with his rock band The Poggs!

Pure Big Island Guava, cooked into a tangy pudding, and folded into rich and fluffy whipped island cream.  A classic of the old Hawaiian diner,

this is for anyone who misses the old King's Bakery as much as we do.

● Flavor:  Caramel-Shoyu

● Character:  “Sweety” Kikkoman

Waitressing at the saimin shop on the Plantation, she forgives Lil Hayden and his friends when they don’t tip on their manapua’s after school.

“Sweety” has a heart of gold and will find love someday.  Until then, she stays a little bit salty.

A local version of fancy French salted caramel, you have got to try this one to believe how ono it is.

Some of our other awesome flavors, artwork pending:

●  Flavor:  Chocolate-Apple Banana
